
Season delays, ever-changing regulations, and declines in fisheries means that to survive, fishers must be adaptable. Where one season used to be enough for fishers to live off of, many, like the Lovely Martha, have become generalists – fishing all year round amidst more tedious forms of fishing (like switching from crab pots to crab traps).
